La Fortuna

¡Hola Amigos!

Yesterday we took an hour bus ride to an eco-lodge outside of La Fortuna to begin our excursion from the village. Our accommodations are beautiful with lots of comfy furniture and a gorgeous view of the nearby volcano and jungle foliage. We began our excursion and headed to The Baldi hot-springs, a fantastic place with lots of hot spring pools and water-slides. We enjoyed a feast with dessert, a welcomed break from lots of rice and beans. We loved going down the water-slides and had lots of laughs watching each other come down. There were also really warm and relaxing jacuzzi-like springs that were fun to chill in. After, we came back home and enjoyed hot showers and relaxed in the comfort of the eco-lodge.  We hung out for awhile, then had a delicious pizza dinner.  By the end of the day we were exhausted and ready to head to our beds.

Today, we woke up later than usual and had a great breakfast before heading off to go zip-lining.  A few of us had never done it before, and we all came to the conclusion that it was really fun and exhilarating!  The course we went on had 12 zip-lines, and we enjoyed feeling like we were flying over the beautiful Costa Rican jungle.  At the end of the course, we headed into the main town of La Fortuna for lunch and some shopping.  We ate at a nice restaurant in the town square, and got some cool souvenirs for family and friends. At the end of the day, we headed back to the eco-lodge for some time to relax.

We’ve all greatly enjoyed the awesome first part of our excursion to La Fortuna.  We’ve tried new things and made many memories.

Adios, Amigos!
